UNPAF AFRICA AT UN HIGH-LEVEL CONSULTATIVE CONFERENCE ON TRAFFICKING OF ENSLAVED AFRICANS
Accra, Ghana – 18th June 2026
On behalf of United Nations Peace Ambassadors Foundation Africa LBG [UNPAF AFRICA], HRM Ambassador Nana Sultan Adamu Mohammed, Founder & Africa Executive Chairman, attended the UN High-Level Consultative Conference on the Next Steps to the Landmark United Nations Resolution on the Trafficking of Enslaved Africans.
The Conference was held at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City, Accra, and convened UN Agencies, AU Representatives, Government Officials, Traditional Authorities, Civil Society, Faith Leaders, and the Diaspora to define concrete “Next Steps” following the landmark UN Resolution.
Key Highlights of UNPAF Africa’s Engagement:
1. Historical Justice & Remembrance: HRM Ambassador Nana Sultan emphasized the need for Africa-led truth-telling, memorialization, and education on the Trafficking of Enslaved Africans as a foundation for healing.
2. Traditional & Community Leadership: The Foundation reaffirmed the role of Chiefs, Queenmothers, and Inter-Faith Leaders as custodians of memory, reconciliation, and community resilience.
3. Youth & Diaspora Action: UNPAF Africa committed to activating UNSCR 2250 to engage Bono, Central, and coastal youth in peace, heritage, and anti-trafficking advocacy across Africa and the Diaspora.
4. Policy to Practice: The Foundation called for the Resolution’s implementation to be linked with SDG 16, AU Agenda 2063, and national peace/security frameworks to prevent modern forms of exploitation.

“The UN Resolution is a turning point. But resolutions must become action. UNPAF Africa is ready to work with the UN, AU, Government of Ghana, and our Traditional Councils to ensure that the ‘Next Steps’ deliver justice, dignity, and lasting peace for Africans at home and abroad.”

UNPAF AFRICA PARTICIPATES IN UN “NEXT STEPS” DIALOGUE ON TRANSATLANTIC SLAVE TRADE REMEMBRANCE*
Accra, Ghana – 17th June 2026
On behalf of the United Nations Peace Ambassadors Foundation Africa LBG [UNPAF AFRICA], HRM Ambassador Nana Sultan Adamu Mohammed, Founder & Africa Executive Chairman, attended the opening ceremony of the United Nations “Next Steps” Dialogue on Transatlantic Slave Trade Remembrance at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Ghana.
The Dialogue convened government officials, diplomatic missions, traditional authorities, civil society, youth, and faith leaders to advance the UN Permanent Memorial Programme and chart “Next Steps” for education, healing, justice, and prevention of racism and racial discrimination linked to the Transatlantic Slave Trade and slavery.
Key Highlights of UNPAF Africa’s Participation:
1. Inter-Faith & Traditional Authority Voice: HRM Ambassador Nana Sultan reaffirmed the role of Chiefs, Queenmothers, and Inter-Faith Leaders in remembrance, reconciliation, and peace education across African communities.
2. Youth & Diaspora Engagement: UNPAF Africa pledged to mobilize youth under UNSCR 2250 to lead remembrance, heritage, and anti-discrimination initiatives in Ghana and across AU member states.
3. Peace & Development Link: The Foundation connected the remembrance agenda to SDG 16 – Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions, and AU Agenda 2063 – “Africa that speaks with one voice on justice and human dignity.”
